Save the Date! Silent Auction on Saturday, June 4, 2011
2011 Poster Picture 8
This year we are gearing up to celebrate our 5th annual silent auction!  All auction proceeds directly benefit Rabbit Meadows.  For the poster for this year's auction, click here.  Please spread the word: forward this message to a friend.  We hope you can join us for the fun and help make this the best auction yet!

If you know of an individual or business that might consider don
ating items, please use this letter.  We appreciate your help with procurement to help make our auction a success.

New Milestone in Progress toward New Shelter
Monitor0001 4After years of planning, we are excited to announce that we have filed our permit applications for building new facilities to accommodate our sanctuary rabbits, our adoption center and our compassionate human visitors.

There will be a main floor and a loft. Here's what it will look like inside:

  Floor and Loft 5

Please consider making a donation to Rabbit Meadows Sanctuary to support our progress on the new shelter.  Once the basic "shell" is constructed, we'll schedule several volunteer days over the summer to add internal & external walls.  So be prepared ... if you're handy with a hammer, we'll be lookin' for you!  After that, we'll need painters and interior decorators.  If you have artistic talent, we'd love to have you paint one of our small critters onto a wall as a permanent reminder of both your talent and our rescued animals.

Critters of the Month

Our lovely model for this year's auction poster is Josie. At nearly 1 year old, she is full of spunk.  She is particularly “creative” in the way she decorates her house!  Josie absolutely loves to be petted; she'd love to have you visit her and give her a forever home.

Taffy
Here's a real guinea pig star, Taffy, born in February 2007.  Though she hasn't found another guinea pig she’s fond of, she relaxes in your lap and enjoys a good petting.  Taffy's birthday wish: adopt me!
 Henrietta 4
Next is Henrietta  Hamster, six months old and with a little tilt to her head that says, "won't you take me home?"--she seems to have been born with the tilt as she doesn't have any medical issues.  And it doesn't stop her from running on her wheel all night long.

And then adorable Jumpin Jack & Popcorn, born April, 2010.
JumpinJack-PopcornPipin 2

And last, but not least, our peerless Pipin!  She's a large and very social lady.  At two years old, she is active and needs lots of exercise.  Time to play! ...

How to Ring in the Year of the Rabbit

We are looking forward to a hoppy year at Rabbit Meadows.  Here are1000643247 2 our favorite tips on making yours an especially hoppy one too:

Adopt: We have rabbits, rodents, and guinea pigs waiting for a good home at Rabbit Meadows.  There's nothing like finding a little companion to brighten your day.

Donate: We rely on generous donations from our supporters to spay/neuter, feed, house and care for our rescued animals.  Click here to donate--and thank you.  Your donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Volunteer: We love our humans as well as our non-human animals! We need volunteers, especially during the week, to come out for 2-4 hours once a week or every other week. We always need help cleaning, but some of your time can also be spent brushing, grooming and loving rabbits & guinea pigs (and even a couple of goats).  For more information, contact Volunteer@RabbitMeadows.org.

and Smile: You keep us going, and we think that is something to feel good about all year long!

Thanks to Michelle DeLappe for taking on the volunteer position as our newsletter editor!
