Rodents Looking for a Good Home

Rabbit Meadows Adoption Center is a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to:

  • The accept from local animal control agencies, and then rehome rodents who have lost their home, through no fault of their own.
  • The education of persons interested in sharing their homes with an adorable little rodent.

We accept guinea pigs, rats, mice, gerbils,  hamsters & chinchillas. We work with local animal shelters and accept these animals as space permits. (Only if a shelter does not have rodents needing our help will we consider taking in your rodents.)

We recommend that all rats be spayed or neutered to prevent hormonal tumors and early deaths, as well as a means to allow these animals to live humanely with their own species. Adoption Fee for spayed/neutered rats

We only do adoptions within the Seattle and Puget Sound area. Companion rodents must live inside in order to be part of the family. If interested in a particular animal, you must come in to the shelter to meet one another.

Gary and Scraps Gary and Scraps

Gary (neutered) and his girl Scraps (spayed) are two bonded chinchillas. They love to cuddle up on top of their hut and need a home together. Gary was born in Jan. 2014. He's been known to climb on or under your legs during exercise time. Scraps is a bit shyer with your hands but will come around with calm patience. She was about 2 when she joined the shelter in Feb. 2016.
Adoption fee $150/pair
Must have large, multi-level cage and time to provide daily out of cage exercise.

More Baby Rats

2 born appx 9-2-18
3 born appx 9-12-18 (can be adopted 10-10-18)
2 mom rats are appx 4 months old (appx 6-1-18)
. Rats need to be adopted with (at least) one companion rat.
Adoption fee for 2 rats is $25.
Females should be spayed to avoid hormonal tumors. If you'd like to have your adopted rats spayed or neutered by our vet the adoption fee would be $75 per rat. Spaying can extend a female rats life by a year or more. Neutered male rats don't mark everything with their urine and their urine odor is considerably reduced.
Come to our Kenmore Adoption Center to meet them and all the other little critters.
