| Effective January 1, 2013 there was once again a very reasonable spay/neuter fee for our rabbit friends in the Seattle area!
Dr. Mary Ellen Zoulas is the veterinarian who is spaying/neutering rabbits at this clinic. She has been altering rabbits since 1996 when she first helped with the Redmond Rabbit Rescue. Spay/neuter fees are $75 for both males and females! Your rabbit must be in a carrier that will open from both the top and front and be large enough to lay down on his side while recovering from anesthesia. (You can borrow a carrier from us, Rabbit Meadows, if your carrier isn't appropriate.) Your rabbit will also receive both pain meds and an antibiotic injection to help ensure a fast, safe recovery. We met Dr. Vanosdoll (usually referred to as Dr. Van) in 1990 at our first House Rabbit Workshop. Although his clinic location is a bit far from our shelter, we have taken our critters to him when our primary veterinarian is not available. He is an excellent surgeon. And if he were closer he would see us more often. | Dr. Carter has worked for the last 11 years in small animal and exotic practices in the Puget Sound area, and in Essex England. She obtained her veterinary degree at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, in 2000. While there, she was active in the Zoological Society, serving it as president during her 4th year. She conducted research on iguana husbandry and paramyxo virus in snakes. She also earned a coveted spot in the exotics elective course at the London Zoo, and Whipsnade Wild Animal Park.

| Dr. Nathanson did a month long externship at the Animal Medical Center in New York (one of the best "exotic" hospitals in the US.) In 1996 she began spaying/neutering the (feral) Redmond rabbits. Several years later she began spay/neuter surgeries for our g. pigs. She's a highly skilled surgeon, an excellent & compassionate veterinarian.
